Knowledge and Conscience
About Haemaru
HAEMARU LAW FIRM is a mid-sized law firm with more than 30 lawyers working together in Seoul and Ansan. The firm was founded in 1993 with the goal of contributing to a more democratic society and the realization of social justice, and has been in existence for over 30 years.
We have a strong track record in the areas of tort, construction, public administration, and labor, and have advised many public institutions, corporations, and media companies. We also have a number of lawyers with specialized experience in the areas of media, intellectual property, and international contracts. The administrative experience of our lawyers, who have worked in public organizations such as the Cheong Wa Dae, the National Audit Office, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, is also an important asset of Haemaru. The firm is proud of its history of having former President Roh Moo-hyun as a member of Haemaru.
We have led the first judgments in the field of past history liquidation, such as the forced mobilization damages case during the Japanese occupation, the Jeju 4.3 victims' retrial case, and the Suzy Kim espionage manipulation case. In addition, we have led new legal doctrines in the NAVER light reflection remand case to the Supreme Court and the maritime boundary authority dispute case to the Constitutional Court, and are regarded as a mid-sized law firm that knows how to beat giants in a polarized legal market.
At HAEMARU LAW FIRM, we like to call our history and orientation "Knowledge and Conscience". We are a law firm that delivers knowledge with a conscience, a law firm with warm people doing cold work.
